Invisalign

Invisalign is loved by patients and orthodontists alike. More than 14 million of them to be precise.

Instead of using brackets and wires to move teeth, Invisalign straightens smiles using clear, custom-made aligners.

It’s incredibly discreet, and you can even take your aligners out to eat and drink brace-free.

Why choose Invisalign?

Dr. Jackie Bracken is an Invisalign Diamond Apex Provider in Clonmel and Newbridge, and she’s helped children and adults to smile with confidence using clear aligners.

Who is Invisalign for?

Everyone! Invisalign aligners are an easy way to straighten a wide range of concerns, including crowded teeth, teeth with spaces and teeth that don’t bite together correctly.

Whether you have minor crowding or spacing, or your case is more complex, there’s an Invisalign brace to suit you.

There’s even an Invisalign for younger patients. Invisalign Teen boasts special features like mandibular advancement, which can improve the position of the lower jaw, without the need for fixed braces.

Your Invisalign journey

Your first appointment

Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation and a digital scan of your teeth and jaws. In minutes we’ll have a 3D image of your teeth and bite that we can view from every angle.

Now for the best part, we’ll transform your digital teeth into a preview of your new smile. It’s a great way to visualise your goal and help you decide if treatment is right for you.

During your consultation, you’ll have the chance to ask us all your questions, and we’ll show you some examples of similar cases we’ve treated.

Getting started

When you start your treatment, we’ll take further scans of your teeth, which we’ll use to create your 3D treatment plan. When you and Jackie are happy with your projected result, Invisalign will manufacture your custom-made aligners.

When your aligners arrive, we’ll check the fit and show you how to take them in and out and keep them clean. You’ll be given a series of aligners to move your teeth; you’ll need to change to a new set every week or two.

Each aligner will gently apply pressure to specific teeth, moving your smile closer to the finish line. You’ll need to wear your aligners for at least 20 hours every day. Just take them out to eat, drink, brush and floss.

IPR and attachments

We’ll see you every 6–8 weeks to give you more aligners and check your progress. At some appointments, we may need to make small adjustments to your teeth to achieve the best possible outcome.

Interproximal reduction is sometimes carried out to create extra space. It involves carefully removing tiny amounts of enamel from between your teeth. It’s quick, painless and won’t affect the long-term health of your teeth.

To help Invisalign braces achieve more challenging movements, we may need to place small tooth-coloured attachments on your teeth. These provide your aligners with extra grip. They’re very inconspicuous and easy to remove.

When your treatment is complete (congratulations!) we’ll give you all the support you need to keep your smile looking incredible. This includes retainers to stop your teeth from moving and 12 months of follow-up appointments.
