Cosmetic braces

If you’d like to improve the appearance of your front teeth, cosmetic braces are a fantastic option. They feature discreet clear brackets that will blend in seamlessly with your smile. Best of all, your transformation can take as little as 12 months.

Why
cosmetic braces?

  • Cosmetic braces target your front 6–8 teeth
  • You can choose to straighten your top or bottom arch
  • They boast almost-invisible crystal-clear brackets
  • You should see results within 12 months
  • You can preview your smile at your first appointment

Who can benefit from cosmetic braces?

If you’re bothered by the position of your front teeth, cosmetic braces can transform your smile quickly and affordably. Because we’re focusing on your front 6–8 teeth, treatment times are shorter, and you’ll need fewer appointments.

Cosmetic braces are suitable for all ages, but they’re especially popular among adults. They’re ideal for treating straightforward cases such as mild crowding or spacing.

Treatment times are usually quicker because our goal is to enhance the cosmetic appearance of your teeth. We’re not making any improvements to the way they bite together.

Your first appointment

During your consultation, Dr. Jackie Bracken will assess your teeth, to make sure you’re a good candidate for cosmetic braces. If we think you could benefit from more comprehensive treatment, we’ll give you all your options, including fixed braces and Invisalign.

Your no-obligation consultation will include a 3D visualisation of your new smile. We’ll answer all your questions and show you similar cases that we’ve treated using cosmetic braces.

You’ll leave with everything you need to make an informed decision, including our recommendations, timeframes, prices and finance options.

Getting started

When you’re ready to begin your treatment, we’ll schedule an appointment to fit your braces. We’ll attach small clear brackets to each tooth and connect them using a thin stainless steel archwire.

Your brackets will remain in place throughout your treatment, so you’ll quickly get used to them. We’ll show you how to care for your braces and keep your teeth clean and healthy.

Fitting your braces should be a comfortable and relaxed experience. You may find that the brackets rub your cheeks at first, but we’ll give you some wax to help with this. Any discomfort or achiness should resolve itself after a few days.

How they work

Cosmetic braces work just like clear braces. Your archwire will gently guide your brackets and teeth into position. It won’t be long until you see your smile getting straighter.

Every 6–8 weeks, you’ll visit the practice so we can make any necessary adjustments to your braces and change your archwires. We’ll take photos throughout your treatment, so you can see how far you’ve come.

As we approach the end of your journey, we’ll work closely with you to achieve your perfect smile. Fixed braces provide us with excellent control, so we can finesse your results to achieve the best possible outcome

To keep your smile looking its best, we provide 12 months of aftercare at no extra cost. This includes removable retainers to maintain the position of your teeth.

Frequently asked questions

How long will my treatment take?
We complete most cosmetic cases within 12 months. However, treatment times can vary. You’ll receive an accurate estimate at your consultation.
Do you offer interest-free finance?
Yes, you can pay an initial deposit and spread your payments over 6–15 months.
Are clear braces uncomfortable?
When we first fit your braces, they might feel a bit uncomfortable for a few days. Your mouth will quickly adapt, though, and we’ll be here to support you with tips and advice.
Will I be able to clean my teeth easily?
You’ll need to spend a bit more time brushing your teeth and gums. It’s essential to keep your teeth and braces pristine and visit your dentist for regular check-ups.
Will I be able to eat and drink as usual?
You’ll need to avoid biting into anything that could break your braces, for example, crusty bread or chewy sweets. You’ll need to limit sugary foods and drinks to prevent damage to your teeth. Otherwise, you can enjoy most foods in bite-sized pieces.
